On January 5th, 2024, we announced that ToolBlocks would be phased out over the coming month, first by entering a read-only state and then closing completely on February 5th, 2024.
As a result, it’s with heavy hearts that we share that ToolBlocks has officially closed.
While ToolBlocks has been an incredible journey, we’ve realized that it no longer fits into the product suite we’re building. Moreover, the increasingly competitive landscape of digital marketplaces demands a shift in our strategy. We need to focus our resources where they can make the most significant impact.
Over the month, we had sent weekly reminders to download any purchases you care about before February 5th, 2024 — as following that date, it would no longer be possible to do so.
If you did not have the chance to do this, we encourage you to contact publishers of anybody you were a customer of and ask them if they can give you a copy of your asset. Every purchase receipt should include the contact information of the publisher you purchased from — and publishers should have a record of everyone who bought from them. (Publishers, see below)
If you were a member of ToolBlocks Games: Your membership was cancelled as of January 5th, 2024. Those with a membership automatically received a refund for any unused portion of time their account was active.
As always, any money due to you will be available in your Stripe account. Stripe, our payment processor, will allow you to see your customer data, tax docs, payouts, and anything else related to your finances. If you have any problems, please reach out to [email protected].
As one chapter closes, another opens. For creators who want to explore more ways to earn revenue, we’re excited to introduce you to Super Biz. Super Biz (Formerly Bloxbiz) offers many opportunities for generating revenue from your games by making it easy to partner with brands and providing other powerful tools to help grow your game and community (analytics, data store tools, and more).
We know it’s not a one-for-one swap for what ToolBlocks offered, but we hope it’s still something to help provide some more revenue opportunities.
